Children are very quick to learn birdsong. This increses their knowledge and enjoyment of oudoors

I use birdsong cds ,cuddly toys and take children outside to listen and birdwatch. We also play games to explore the question why birds sing.

Why go Pond dipping?

Well firstly for the fun of it. Hidden under those seemingly simple little areas of water exists a world teeming with life, with a myriad of little creatures whizzing about. Killeshandra children pond dipping

The other thing about water is that it links so many thing together. It is so essential to our lives and we tend to undervalue it ,until we find our water supply is contaminated ,or in short supply or we are flooded with too much of it .

Here in Cavan our geography is so dominated by the drumlin hills and lakes that water ecology is a key part of understanding the area. I provide the equipment
